Write for us
Prime News Compass welcomes considered pitches about how readers can assess news claims, sources, framing, evidence and uncertainty. Send proposals through the Contact page rather than submitting a finished article without agreement.
What fits
We are interested in clear, original pieces that give readers a useful way to examine a specific part of news reading. A pitch might compare two kinds of source, explain how a headline frames a claim, or show how context changes the reading of a report. Keep the subject distinct from general commentary on whether news is good or bad.
A strong pitch
Tell us the central question, the reader who would benefit and the main idea the piece would leave them with. Include a brief outline, the kind of material the article would rely on and any relevant experience you want us to consider. We value careful scope, plain prose and a clear distinction between what can be established and what is interpretation.
Before sending
Proposals are sent through the Contact page, where you can choose the editorial question option. Please disclose any relevant interests or material that could affect how a reader understands the proposed work. A pitch is a proposal, not a promise of publication; we will consider its fit and clarity before discussing a draft.
Read closely. Keep your bearings.
News is easier to assess when its claims, sources and limits are kept in view. We make those parts visible without telling readers what to think.
